The American Telemedicine Association (“ATA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit or use our websites, online platforms, applications, and other digital services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Website”), or otherwise interact with ATA.

By using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires your consent to particular processing activities, we will obtain that consent separately.

ATA does not sell your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

12. Marketing Communications

You may unsubscribe from ATA promotional emails at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link included in the email.

Please note that opting out of marketing communications does not necessarily prevent ATA from sending transactional or administrative communications related to your account, membership, registrations, purchases, or other services.

ATA complies with applicable laws governing commercial electronic communications, including the CAN-SPAM Act.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

ATA does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

ATA will never ask you to provide your password through an unsolicited email.

15. Health Information and Sensitive Information

ATA may receive or process information that may be considered sensitive or subject to heightened privacy protections under applicable law in connection with certain programs, events, research, advocacy activities, or other services.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Website is not intended to collect or process protected health information (“PHI”) for the purpose of providing medical care to individuals, and ATA is not a healthcare provider through the Website.
